PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are a medical-grade treatment designed to gently lift and tighten sagging skin. They also stimulate collagen production, helping to improve skin quality, firmness, and elasticity over time.
COG threads are specially designed with tiny barbs that anchor into the tissue. Once inserted, they reposition sagging skin and provide an immediate lift. Over the following months, the threads naturally dissolve while stimulating new collagen, creating long-lasting, natural-looking results.
Lifting threads are typically used in specific areas of the face and neck to achieve desired lifting effects. These areas include:
✔️Lower Face: for jowling, jawline and marionettes
✔️Mid Face: cheeks and nasolabial folds
✔️Upper face: brow lift/fox eye lift
✔️Neck
These threads are strategically placed to provide structural support & lift, improving overall facial harmony and rejuvenation.
Each treatment plan is personalised based on individual anatomy & aesthetic goals, determined through a thorough consultation with Aly.
Not everyone needs or wants surgery to look refreshed. PDO threads are ideal for those starting to notice early signs of sagging and wanting a natural, lifted look without downtime. If you’re after subtle rejuvenation rather than dramatic change, this treatment could be perfect for you.
Mild to Moderate Skin Laxity: Early jowling, slight cheek descent, marionette or nasolabial folds, or drooping brows.
Healthy Skin Quality: Good skin thickness and elasticity for optimal thread support.
Realistic Expectations: PDO threads offer a subtle, natural lift and stimulate collagen — they’re not a replacement for surgical results.
Committed to Maintenance: Ideal for those open to upkeep every 12–18 months to maintain results.
Ideal Age Range: Typically late 20s to mid-50s, depending on skin condition.
Stable Weight: Consistent weight helps maintain long-term results.
Most PDO thread lift procedures take 60 minutes, depending on the number of threads used and the areas being treated.
You’ll notice an immediate lift straight after your treatment — but remember, this is only the first stage of your result.
Mild swelling, bruising, puckering, and asymmetry are completely normal in the first 1–2 weeks while your threads settle and tissue adjusts. Everything softens as swelling resolves, so don’t panic if things feel a little tight or uneven at first.
After about 2–4 weeks, you may start to feel a little less tight, this is when the threads intergrade into your skin and begins producing new collagen, creating natural lift and firmness from within.
You’ll start to see results at 6-8weeks, and continues to improve up to 3-6months, and results typically lasting 12–18 months depending on your skin and lifestyle.
PDO COG lifting threads typically last between 12–18 months, but the visible lifting effect and collagen stimulation benefits follow a slightly different timeline.
Although results vary depending on clients lifestyle, smoking, drinking and exercise can affect the results of the treatment.
Local anaesthetic is performed to reduce any discomfort while preforming lifting thread treatments.
Occasionally, temporary facial paralysis may occur from local anaesthesia, similar to having a nerve block at the dentist. This will resolve in 3–4hrs.
Post treatment mild pain, tenderness, & discomfort may be present. Tightness is expected post treatment & a clicking sensation along the thread lines is normal if the thread tension is tight.
Any pain, tightness, tenderness, pinching sensation or discomfort usually diminishes within a 1-2weeks, & can be manageable with simple painkillers like paracetamol & cold compresses.
Yes, PDO threads can complement other treatments such as dermal fillers, skin boosters, or anti-wrinkle injections to achieve more comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
